This is a long overdue post. Been delaying posting it probably because something happened immediately after the wine tasting that I was trying to systematically erase from my consciousness. Something that involved the words “projectile”, “designer bag”, “smelly” and “dry clean”. Oh well, if you can figure it out yourselves, geniuses.
Anyway, I had a pretty nice time during the wine tasting, courtesy of Wyndham Estate. It felt a little stuffy for sure, mostly because I had no idea what the wine connoisseurs were babbling about. My wine knowledge is as far as Floyd on the Food Channel goes (read: if it tastes good, drink up). I supposedly knew how to read wine labels exactly 3 years ago too, but that knowledge too was systematically erased from my memory due to situations involving the words “jumped” and “bond”.

Anyhooooo, back to the wine tasting session. Nice food were served, but not enough for chugging down those reds without going face down first. I particularly loved the confit of salmon…it practically melted in my mouth. The rest of the food were decent, but the highlights were of course the wines.
The Awwwwwwwweeeeesome salmon confit.
I can’t tell the difference of one from another but Wyndham wines are delicious. Nuff said. I don’t even remember where it came from. To be honest, I could have taken the trouble to Google for the information I suppose but I just can’t be arsed right now. Australia, I think? Who cares, if you took a bottle of Wyndham’s Bin 555 Shiraz to some posh, pretentious partay you shan’t go wrong. You tell me how something that’s named “bin” can exude so much class, just like Gossip Girl!
Sorry, I’m digressing again. Swear, I haven’t taken a swig while writing this.
Just drink.
A renowned winemaker, Nick Dolan was there to talk about wines too. Of course.
Nick Dolan.
Had some steak also…I’ve had better. The consomme was…bland. Fancy name for cold slightly salty water.
Just decent.
Oxtail consomme with some kind of ravioli.
Also had some kind of foie gras dish…can’t remember how it tasted like. Probably not worth remembering, hrm. Remember it’s Fwah-Gra and not foy-grass. You don’t have to go to France to learn that.
Can’t remember which was the fwahhh graHHH :D
So yeah, I don’t mind going to another wine tasting. Only this time, I’ll bring two empty plastic bags…and I won’t tell you why.
p/s: pictures taken with my D70s with no flash fired.
