Happy birthday Kim! My last year being in the 30s Happy birthday Kim! My last year being in the 30s club. My 39th started with a bang watching Oppenheimer on IMAX with @higarethdavies. Massive screen with eardrum perforating sounds - that's the only way to do it. Followed by very delicious spicy frog porridge for supper. Perfect. Slept in, woke up having a bit of an existential crisis, what's new? But thank goodness I recovered in time for a beautiful omakase dinner with my love. The children are a bit nonchalant about my birthday but I chalk it down to them being secure in my love for them. They never have to feel pressured to win my approval. That itself is a better birthday present than anything. I'm happy, healthy and whole. Life is wonderful ☀️❤️🎂💐
So @higarethdavies and Liam won the bid for this v So @higarethdavies and Liam won the bid for this vintage Playmobil plane on ebay a while ago and mum @susanhelendavies lugged this massive thing all the way to KL from UK in her carryon for her precious grandson (thanks mum ❤️). Liam was overjoyed but it being vintage means that a lot of the plastic has yellowed but not evenly throughout. While he's happy, now and then he wondered out loud if the plane could be cleaned 😂 So I did a bit of googling and found that brushing hydrogen peroxide onto the plastic and leaving it in the sun can help break down the fire retardant component (bromine) in the plastic that caused the yellowing in the first place. Lo and behold, I do have hydrogen peroxide 3% on hand so I immediately got to work! We experimented with two of its four engines first, to make sure the chemicals don't strip off the printing etc. Much to our amazement, it worked! So we proceeded with the rest of the plane. Liam and I are well pleased with the results!
