Village Park Restaurant, Damansara Utama (Uptown)

It took us forever but we finally got around to check out Village Park in Damansara Uptown. Everyone I know who has been there loves the food there.

# – Village Park Restaurant.

We reached there around 3 something in the afternoon and surprise, surprise…the place was still quite busy!

# – Still full house.

# – They have a good variety of nasi lemak combo and other dishes.

As it’s our first time there, we decided to just order basic nasi lemak and some fried chickens.

# – The boyfriend’s nasi lemak + daging (beef).

# – My nasi lemak + kerang (cockles).

# – Fried chickens for sharing.

Well, the nasi lemak rice is definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. The rice was light, fluffy and infused with a strong aroma of coconut milk. Very addictive! I think I could wallop a few bowls with just the sambal alone.

The beef rendang and sambal kerang were pretty standard stuff but eaten with the awesome rice, they were spectacular! Same for the fried chicken. I think I can see why so many people love the place. It’s the rice that makes or breaks a plate of nasi lemak and in this respect, Village Park Restaurant has successfully differentiated itself from other restaurants that serve the same type of food.

Our bill was only RM16.70 including drinks.

When I tweeted about this place, many people have suggested other dishes to try out at this restaurant. You’ve probably been here too, so what is your favourite dish in Village Park? Hit me with some tips please, thanks :)

My latest gastronomic obsession…

…..is these half broiled oysters from Sushi Zanmai.

# – Aburi Kaki no Carpaccio

Going for RM4.80++ a pair and I think it’s a crazy good deal! I can eat half a dozen by myself, no problem. The oysters are not really big but they are not tiny either. They’re juicy and sloppy, as if they were just scooped out right from the sea. The tangy sauce is perfection. I love them so much!

Oh and I bought a classic Casio from a stall in Chic Pop set up by Project Hullabaloo to replace the one I had lost for weeks.

# – New old Casio.

And right after I tweeted about it, I saw this tweet from my Mom:

# – You didn’t lose it, you left it at home.

So I guess I have two Casios now. This my be a start to another obsession.
