River cruise

Here’s a break from my usual mirror. Wore this to Damien & Amy’s wedding dinner.

The dress is from H&M. Gold stilettos from Payless Shoes, clutch bought in Bangkok. Watch is my favourite Tough Solar G-Shock, which was a birthday present to myself many years ago.

After Damien and Amy’s wedding, someone suggested to go on the Melaka River Cruise, which is near the Stadhuys. Since the hubs and I have never been on it, we decided to go for it.

We didn’t carpool so ended up at different jetty points. There were like 3 or 4.

There were some difficulties trying to pinpoint where everyone was. KY in particular was very helpful with his “We are at the jetty in front of this large red building”.

At last, after walking for a bit, we found the rest of the group. They had been trying to stop a boat to get on by waving from a jetty, kind of like hailing a taxi? There’s a signboard that actually said you could do that.

Anyway, one particular boatman signalled to us to go further up (or down? I wouldn’t know) along the river instead, so we started walking.

And ended up where hubs and I were before. Also found out that we needed to buy tickets to get on the cruise, not stop it by waving lol

Lucky for us, we just made it! We were the very last passengers to get on the river cruise.

What an adventure! Hahaha.

The ticket was RM10 for local and RM15 for foreigner. The price is actually quite okay because it’s a pretty long cruise (45 minutes). That said, maybe it felt long cause there was a kid with a toy cat that wouldn’t stop meowing. WTF parents?

# – River cruise!

Contrary to belief, the river was not smelly. The water’s not crystal clear though so we tried our best to avoid stray spray.

# – Under a rainbow bridge.

It’s really nice to see the improvement they’ve done to Melaka river. So much cleaner and so many beautiful murals on the walls of the buildings located along the river. Nice ambient lightings too!

Would be cool if they could do something like that to Klang River :D

Golden showers

In Melaka now. We have checked in to Mio Hotel, a new one near Jonker which is pretty nice.

Our earlier accommodation was decent too…but its name is just awesome x infinity.

“Golden Showers”.

For those that are stumped, here is a definition of golden shower.

We were giggling about it like school kids. Of course must take pictures!

Bridegroom also cannot miss out, hahaha.

By the way, here’s a comparison of size between my foot and husband’s hand.

Have a good weekend!

Damien getting hitched

Yay Friday! We’re taking a trip to Malacca for the wedding of one of our oldest friends, Damien. Damien is getting married to Amy.

OMG Damien is getting married!!!

# – This is Damien.

Damien is one of those solid fellas that you can always count on.

One incident that I will always remember, it happened in Redang Island back in 2005 while we were on a group holiday.

I was inappropriately grabbed by some dude while snorkeling in the marine park and it was Damian who stomped around the island trying to look for the bastard to beat up! Although we didn’t manage to find him, it was very comforting to have a friend stand up for you like that.

So yeah, thank you Damien. I am so happy for you and Amy! :)

See you guys later!
