We got a grocer yayyyy

After pestering several local grocers on their facebook pages, finally one has opened 5 minutes away from home! Thank you Jaya Grocer.

# – Jaya Grocer @ Sierramas.

We visited the place for the first time yesterday and I was so happy with the selection of goods.

At last, we have quick access to decent beef (we bought a couple of tenderloins) and meat, wide selection of dairy products (so many types of cream….LOVE!), cooking ingredients and booze.

Well, I’m pretty happy with Tesco but there are just some stuff that you can’t get from Tesco.

# – Husband’s happy with the choice of booze.

It’s also the first time I spotted suet, actual suet in Malaysia! This ingredient has fascinated me since before I hit puberty, after I read about it in an old recipe book that belonged to my aunt.

# – Suet pudding, here I come!

Best of all, is the fridge filled with bagels.

# – Bagels, I love jew.

All these within 5 minutes drive. You may think I’m being a bit over-dramatic but you have no idea how happy I am. I was on the verge of tears the entire time I was in the supermarket.

We spent over RM700 on a visit that was supposed to be just a recce, lol. And it’s so nice to have someone bag your shopping and carry it to your car for you.

Here’s to a loving and lasting relationship with my grocer!

Godzilla seahum

Dressed up for the wedding of one of my oldest, longest friends, Bryan. Not using a mirror cause it’s too dark.

# – Body straight.

# – Body not straight.

This is a champagne gold/black dress I got at a steal from Asos a couple of years ago. I shop awfully lot from Asos, but only from clearance section.

I don’t wear this dress often because it’s pretty impossible to eat in it. Only for special occasions, like a good friend’s wedding :)

Stilettos are from Payless Shoes in Sunway Pyramid. I’ve got two more pairs in gold and red. The clutch is from Bangkok.

My smile is damn weird these days. My lips can’t form a curve without having the braces cutting the inside of my mouth.

I just need patience, as long as I stay patient I will get the best gawdamn smile the world will ever see in 2 years! Rawrrrr!

I love seahum (cockles). Juicy, bloody morsels of heaven. On the way back from Pom Pom Island, we stopped by Tawau for dinner.

The first thing that caught my eyes were the seahums – they were humongous!

I started asking everyone whether they like seahums because I didn’t think I could finish a whole kilo by myself (which was the minimum order).

Nobody was into in :(

Nevertheless, I ordered a kilo of them, half boiled.

# – Seahums.

Pretty ordinary looking cockles, right?

# – Not.

As it turned out, I have no problem finishing a kilo of gigantic seahums by myself.

Godzilla seahums for Kimzilla. Love it!

Anyway, the restaurant is called Kam Ling. It’s apparently the most popular seafood restaurant in Tawau. The price is pretty reasonable for a KL-ite and the variety of seafood is astounding!

I’d go back again if I were ever in Tawau.

My kiddie pool

Casual Friday! Put on a dress that’s a tad too sheer in sunlight, so put on leggings too. The key is comfort.

# – Arm down.

# – Arm up.

# – Close-up.

Got the dress from a flea market, probably pre-loved…I’m not too sure. As you have probably noticed, I have no qualms wearing hand-me-downs. Coz you know, I’m ghetto like that.

I think clothings from a certain time in the past have better quality, better fabric you know…more breathable. Stuff these days are pretty but oh my gawd, RM400 for something made entirely out of polyester? WTF?

Hard to find stuff made out of natural fabric nowadays without costing and arm and a leg :(

I’ve put this particular dress through the spinner like a gazillion times and not a single bead has come off. Pretty amazing coz the beading looks quite delicate.

# – Beads around the neck.

# – Beads on the trunk.

Some time ago, I bought a kiddie pool. I also bought an inflatable monkey chair. I didn’t know what use I’d have of them but I knew they would come in handy one day.

I brought the monkey chair to my hen’s night, which turned out to be a hit – because it was just so hilarious to use.

For one, it was impossible to sit on without flipping over head first into water.

# – Epitome of elegance.

But eventually we figured out a way to sit on it stably.

# – Victorious.

As for the kiddie pool….I toyed with the idea of having a ghetto pool party. However, traipsing around in a bikini in full sight of my neighbours didn’t seem like such a great idea.

Anyway, the sun was out today so I decided to give our scuba diving gear a good soak to dissolve all the salt deposits.

While mulling over how to do it quickly and effectively, I was struck by a stroke of genius.

Of course! My kiddie pool!

# – Victorious version 2.

Now the husband can’t say I’m spending too much on stupid things.
