Speedzone Tour 2007

Time is passing so fast, man. Feels like only yesterday that I attended the Speedzone Tour party at KL Tower back in April. This time around, it’s for the motoGP.

I won some free tix doing l33t a55 haikus at Suan’s. By the way, here’s a funny article about haiku that you must read, Haiku Is For Stupid Tards.

Anyway, this Speedzone Tour party was held at Zouk. Upon entering party compound were some motor racing simulation thing. I couldn’t resist hopping onto one of the fake bikes.

Nice touch but it wasn’t really that realistic. Wearing a dress didn’t help matters.

After playing some games and winning a couple of cigarette lighters, we entered the main room.

As we were there around 9 something to collect the tickets, guess it was a tad too early. The aircon was on full blast and it was freezing cold!

The turnout was surprisingly small. Maybe cause we were early. Didn’t stay long enough to find out.

Crowd
It wasn’t very packed.

Was dancing to keep warm more like.

Matt Darey came on after Joey G. He’s supposed to be awesome, but the tiny crowd and freezing temperature kinda killed it for me.

Saw some people heating up though…

I also met bloggers, Kel Li and Natalie. Really nice to meet you girls =)

We left around 12+ (Seb Fontaine had just played for a while) and hit an old school wantan mee stall at Changkat Bukit Bintang. SoOo good. Will definitely take pictures next time.

Then we went to Kelvin‘s house for Rugby World Cup finals. England lost, ST’s grieving so I also tumpang sedih.

But the truth is, I was so satisfied seeing so many tight, muscular arses pilling up onto one another for more than an hour. Didn’t I tell you, I’m an arse woman.

Biggest Bloggers Movie Outing

250 bloggers came together to watch the premier of Pirates of the Caribbean 3, thanks to Tim, Ming and team at Nuffnang for making it happened. My only gripe was that itā€™s a working day, so it was a lot of rushing. Rushing back from work, rushing to change, rushing to catch the movie, rushing to go home to sleep. There wasnā€™t much time to mingle around with other bloggers, which is a pity considering itā€™s one of the biggest gatherings of bloggers in Malaysia. Well, Iā€™m sure thereā€™s always a next time.

One of the first bloggers I saw was Tim. He looked a little pooped, obviously from working so hard trying to ensure that everything went right. I believe his efforts paid off, as this momentous event went without a hitch. Then I saw Jeff and his family. It was kind of surreal to meet the wife and daughter of this controversial fella, it felt almost like the first time when I met Jeff.

When I entered the cinema, it was already full house! Glad I made it just in time before the seats were taken up. I saw Kid Chan in his usual jolly self and Biao Ger, talking cock as usual lor =)

The bunch of faggots (Suan, KY, Val and FA and God) were seated far back. I could barely make out their faces, their distinctive pirate hats would put Jack Sparrow to shame. I also saw Jennifer and Cherrie.

Futile identification.

The movie started and it felt like an eternity from then on. Really long, with the occasional chuckle that didnā€™t quite salvage the movie. Personally, I think it has fallen short of expectation, grossly short. Not the kind of stuff I would watch for more than one time. I shouldnā€™t spoil it for those who hasnā€™t watched but I can assure you that you wouldnā€™t miss much anyway. The best part of the movie was appearance by Keith Richards. Heā€™s too cool for school. I suspect the fella didnā€™t need much on the makeup department tooā€¦how old is he again? 184 years old?

The movie finally ended. I stuck around till the credits finished rolling because a reliable source told me that thereā€™d be something to look forward to. That final, final scene was of course cheesy as hell.

Thanks to Exabytes for the popcorn and drinks, although they were stale and diluted. Beggars canā€™t be chooser aye. One thing about Cathay Cineleisure, I no understand why movie not yet end the exit doors already opened big big? So distracting to me eyes. Is it cause canā€™t wait to throw us out? Cathay Cineleisure could do better on the timing, really. And the popcorn size too, while Iā€™m at it. Otherwise, itā€™ll only be ever getting spillover customers from GSC, which rocks IMHO.

Mingled around for a bit to make up for loss time. Camwhored just a teeny bit with Jolene,Penispupz and a bunch of girlsā€¦and Tim of course. Thanks Yee Hou for helping me take the pictures!

ST, me and Jolene.

Penny, Jolene, Sweat Lee, Albert, WenQi, pinkpau, Tim, ahbeng pirate and me!

Missed the faggots on the way out and thus no pictures taken with them in their awesome costume =( So, it was pretty funā€¦wish more people had dressed up!!!

Thanks again to Nuffnang for making this happened!

Tsentsen, Karaoke, JB, Muar and stubby digits.

Tsentsen was in town recently and we hit the karaoke joint. The last time we sang together heā€™d got a bad sore throat so I had no one to duet with. Glad he could indulge me this time!

The duet.

We had so much fun! I wish I could karaoke every night. Tsen is an amazing singer, heā€™s performed in Carnegie Hall, ok!

After that, we adjourned to Williamā€™s for some supper. I had my favourite mushroom soup while Tsen got his dose of delicious cheese naan.

Camhoring at Williams.

The next dayā€¦.

Went to Kulai to attend a friendā€™s wedding. It was lovely! One of those weddings that is done the way the couple wants it and not because itā€™s ā€œsupposedā€ to be like that.

Boo and me at the wedding.

We stayed overnight in Kulai. Had dimsum for supper at 3am. It was one of the best dimsum Iā€™ve had. Big fresh juicy prawn dumplings and wholesome porridge. Errrā€¦obviously forgotten to take pictures again because I was too into the food =P

I did however, captured the mesmerising dollop of chilli sauce.

Next morning, we decided to stop in Johor Bahru. It was a disappointing trip. The traffic jam was worse than KLā€™s and the food wasnā€™t even good. We ate at this place because we saw some pictures of Singaporeā€™s quasi-celebrities dining at the restaurant. I should have known not to trust the taste buds of Singaporeansā€™. No offence really, but Iā€™ve had my fair share of Singaporean food and they are quite frankly, really bad. So, I really wouldnā€™t blame our neighbours for actually enjoying the less than fantastic fare weā€™ve got to offer.

We wanted to go to Danga Bay after lunch but a massive downpour hit us and the traffic jam got even worse. Didnā€™t help matter that Danga Bay signboards also went missing after several turns. We decided to abandon JB and head up to Muar.

When boredom struckā€¦

On our way to Muar, we called the Suan to ask for directions to the infamous otak-otak. But girl told me sheā€™s in the Land of Smiles so I quickly cut short the conversation (Iā€™m such a considerate friend, ok) and decided to hunt the place down ourselves. After asking a few people from different petrol stations, we got to Bentayan Food Court.

Had 40 sticks of otak-otak. They were AWESOME. I forgot to take any picture because I was too busy eating, obviously. After otak-otak, we drove around somemore to look for soto. We failed in our quest though, so no soto =(

And here are completely random pictures of my digits because I really love my nail colours. I bought the nail polish eons ago but never used it because the colour didnā€™t look good from the bottle. Glad I tried it on and Iā€™m loving it now.
