Stupidest thing I’ve ever bought…

is this.

Skittles Spray Candies.

I’m a big fan of Skittles. I never really got it why they made the original Skittles smaller when they’re already small but I do now. It is because the people over at Skittles have creative ideas that don’t work. Fortunately the severely miniaturised Skittles can survive by the virtue of its taste alone.

Anyway, when I was in Singapore and saw these Skittles Spray Candy, I had to try it. Spraying candy onto tongue…wow! So I bought 3 tubes. About 1sing per tube.

I tried it as soon as my feet touched Malaysian soil. My excitement soon turned into utter disappointment. I had genuinely believe the sweet liquid mist would crystalise upon contact with my tongue, it didn’t. You can get the same effect by filling up a spray bottle with any flavoured syrup you like, aim at your tongue and squeeze. Yes, Skittles Spray Candy is that stupid.

p/s: And I guess I’m more stupid to have fallen for it.

p/p/s: Yes, this is a filler post.

Wyndham Estate Wine Tasting @ Chinoz on the Park

This is a long overdue post. Been delaying posting it probably because something happened immediately after the wine tasting that I was trying to systematically erase from my consciousness. Something that involved the words “projectile”, “designer bag”, “smelly” and “dry clean”. Oh well, if you can figure it out yourselves, geniuses.

Anyway, I had a pretty nice time during the wine tasting, courtesy of Wyndham Estate. It felt a little stuffy for sure, mostly because I had no idea what the wine connoisseurs were babbling about. My wine knowledge is as far as Floyd on the Food Channel goes (read: if it tastes good, drink up). I supposedly knew how to read wine labels exactly 3 years ago too, but that knowledge too was systematically erased from my memory due to situations involving the words “jumped” and “bond”.

Niji Sushi at Bandar Manjalara.

One of my all-time favourite restaurants is Niji Sushi in Bandar Manjalara. I’ve been a regular patron for the past 4 years and we eat there almost every week. I’ve been to a few Japanese restaurants, some were pretty good but most are too expensive for the quality of food they’re serving. I quite like Sushi Zanmai and Rakuzen but I personally don’t think they match up to Niji Sushi. Niji’s food are priced reasonably and the quality is always top notch.

If you’re at Niji, you must absolutely order the salmon sashimi. I don’t know how this quaint restaurant in a quiet neighbourhood does it, but they’ve always managed to serve fresh, fatty succulent salmon sashimi. You don’t get pathetic thin slices of salmon flesh that have been dehydrated from refrigeration or big fat mushy ones that morph into manky water as soon as you pop them in your mouth.

#1 – Sakae Sashimi
