Inception and what inspires me.

I am currently suffering from writer’s block. I had written so much things in the past few days; advertorials, press releases, proposals, blog posts that my brains are incapable of churning out anything anymore. So what’s the obvious thing to do? Whinge about it on Twitter of course and hope to receive some suggestions. And suggestions were exactly what I got.

Lainey asked me to write about Inception, the Christopher Nolan’s mind fucking thriller. This is a topic I actually rather not touch on because frankly, I don’t think I’ve fully understood it and I seriously do not want to come across as a pseudo-intellectual fool LOL. I watched it only once and was more thrilled by the premise of the film than the film itself, if you get what I mean? There were some parts that I couldn’t get, like how does the Architect work? Does she have special fluid injected into her that allows her to landscape other people’s dreams? The film didn’t address this, or if it did I didn’t catch that part. And then the part where Cobb decided to stay back to rescue Saito who’s in limbo? How could he have made that decision as the “kicks” were already in place and he would be forcefully brought back to reality? Confusement max!

Then Joe asked me to write about my writer’s block and what inspires me. To be honest, I think evil inspires me. In my opinion, most of my best writings emerged from anger and hate. How do you not write with passion when driven by those emotions? Nice things are great but they are also soooo boring to write about. That’s probably why it’s really hard to blog when you’re contented and satisfied with life. Luckily or unluckily for me, I’m in a good place now. Being angry and hateful is exhausting and damaging to my relationships with other people, so I’m just trying to be open-minded about everything and give things the benefit of the doubt. Seriously, it’s a constant struggle for me not to fall into that “I WANT TO CUT YOUR FUCKING FACE” mode.

Okay, I’m done here. Gonna grab dinner.

Of Windows 7, Rubik’s cube, mossie bites and green coloured milk.

Oh my gawd, this drilling in the apartment upstairs is killing my braincells. I can’t think straight.

And that is why, this sentence you’re reading now was written about 15 minutes after the one above because I had to lie my head down.

Last week was not very interesting except for the party because the boyfriend was on full work mode and I was kind of left alone to vege out in front of the TV. In between TV times, I managed to upgrade my laptop’s operating system from XP to Windows 7. Ladies & gentlemen, I am in love. Windows 7 is the best thing that Microsoft has ever come out with and it’s so ridiculously easy to install.

This is my desktop now, it’s so clean and sleek.

I hated the tedious, swishy swooshy interface that Vista tried to imitate from Apple but with Windows 7, it’s nothing like that and is very intuitive. Using my laptop now feels like using a Firefox browser, perhaps I should start saying “surfing my laptop” rather than “using my laptop”. I suppose the thing that stands out most about this OS from its predecessors is that it doesn’t operate on the basis that its users are retarded.

Anywayyyyyyyyyy, enough of my pimping on Microsoft :P

Also, I discovered a great way to stop mosquito bites on the feet from itching via Michelle on twitter.

# – Seriously?

To be honest, I thought it was bollocks but curiosity got the better of me so I just tried. No loss except for a short length of cheap cellophane tape.

# – Taped up foot.

What do you know, it worked! The itch completely vanished and if anyone could explain the chemistry behind this I would love to hear it!

By the way, check this out…

# – Solved!

Yes, I have solved a Rubik’s cube, or rather just one of its sides. Haze taught me some of her theories on solving the cube (while I was drunk no less) and lo and behold, it worked! On how to solve the remaining 5 sides she said I could learn another time. Being the impatient brat that I am, I didn’t want to wait much more so I googled it up but hell, those instructions might as be for building a space shuttle. Suddenly, I’m not so confident in learning about solving the entire cube anymore :P

Have resorted to drinking melon milk to drown my sorrows.

# – Melon milk drink.

They might as well call it crack milk cause this shit is addictive!!! I wonder if they have a strawberry flavoured one cause I’ll totally be lapping it all up.

# – Green coloured milk, so wrong but so right.

I think my chest has grown bigger but it’s probably all in my head. Right?

Mash-up from the past.

These pictures were taken many months ago but were sort of forgotten. But now, they’re seeing the light of day!

# 9 August 2009. Was at the pet grooming shop when a fella brought in this shih tzu with massive, dirty hair and long dirty nails. According to the owner, the dog hadn’t taken a bath for 2 weeks. The dog’s fur was matted all the way to his skin it’s impossible to comb them out. So there’s no other way of making him handsome again other than to get a full shave. 2 weeks? Looks more like a year of neglect.

# 19 October 2009. At the bf’s office. Me. His coffee cup, a gift from me. Hmmm, don’t ask.

# 24 October 2009. This is a picture of 13 boxes of takoyaki balls, which translates into 39 pieces of balls shared among CL, KY, ST, Haze and myself. We were in Singapore for Nuffnang Blog Awards and while checking out the city, won some Takashimaya vouchers that we used to redeem 13 boxes of takoyaki balls. Tragically, by the final 2 balls, our stomachs gave up.

# 12 January 2010. Like mother, like son.
