About time I voice my feelings about Nuffnang ads

Iā€™ve always had a love-hate relationship with blog advertisements. I first started out with Adsense, but my earnings never exceeded USD 85 even after more than a year. Subsequently, I removed the Google ads from my blog. Thought I would swear off blog advertisements but I did get acquainted with payperpost and text link ads. The former, I realised was equivalent to blog suicide but Iā€™m still sticking with text link ads for its non-intrusiveness and somewhat lax requirements. I donā€™t earn much from text link ads but whoā€™s complaining about passive income?

As some of you may have noticed, Iā€™ve tweaked my blog around to accommodate Nuffnang ads. Iā€™m really happy with the ad revenue that my blog is bringing me via Nuffnang. To be honest, when I first heard about Nuffnang, the first feeling to strike me was relief. Finally, local ads with local content are available to Malaysian bloggers. Iā€™ve always felt that Google ads were terribly out of place on my blog but not with Nuffnang ads. Iā€™m also glad that itā€™s not a pay per click modelā€¦the Nuffnang model, grouping blogs into different payment bands is nothing short of genius! Itā€™s also comforting to know that the duo behind Nuffnang, Tim and Ming are such passionate entrepreneurs with good heads on their shoulders. After chatting with them, Tim especially, understanding their vision and ambitions for Nuffnang, Iā€™d feel it would be criminal for Malaysian bloggers not to support Nuffnang. So far, Nuffnang has served 4 ad campaigns to me and the current one is from Amob.com

Amob.com

Amob.com is a website that provides high quality mobile phone ringtones, wallpapers, games, screensavers and videos for a nominal price. Personally, Iā€™m only into the MP3 ringing tones, which cost RM4 for each. Quite reasonably priced, considering the convenience and quality of the ringing tone. I suppose one could get MP3 ringing tones for free nowadays but this service is great for those who are technologically n00b and who are just in no mood to synchronise the laptop/phone or deal with cables. Just go to Amob.com, set your phone model and voilaā€¦time for some shopping.

Iā€™m impressed with the collection of MP3 ringtones that they have. And now, Iā€™m terribly addicted =P

Just great, going to be stuck in KL.

This morning was stuck in an unnecessary traffic jam because there was a corpse (I think) lying near the turnoff to Federal Highway on LDP. There was nothing to see, just a black plastic covering a possibly mangled body (I think). No hand or toes peeking out or anything but yet, idiots slowed down from 90kmh to 20kmh just so they could check out a pile of unidentified object. In times like that I wish I had a beat-up truck and a tinted helmet.

Looking forward to the long weekends. Planning an island excursion but every freaking hotel and resort in the country is fully booked! I am so frustrated now itā€™s not even funny. This teaches you not to procrastinate and plan months ahead, oh and proper communication with your partner too. Men have to freaking stop saying, ā€œDunno..up to youā€, ā€œDonā€™t mindā€, ā€œSee howā€, because it creates feeling of hesitation from your side even if youā€™re not actually hesitating and subsequently cause your other half to really hesitate about planning anything because she thinks youā€™re unwilling. Iā€™m rambling, whatever. I could have been frolicking in Bali this weekend but I wonā€™t and Iā€™m just pissed because my 5 days off from work would be completely wasted. And at this rate, it seems like an inescapable fate.

I miss the beachā€¦ =(

Walking calluses.

Lets call her M. M is a friend of my former classmate, $. We had a gathering a week ago and I told $ about some party tickets that I had and that I could give it to him and his friends for free.

So, $ called me a few days ago to tell me that this M girl was interested in the tickets. I was more than happy to give her the tickets, and told $ to give M my number so that we could arrange something. M called me back a while later and we discussed about how to pass her the tickets.

I told her where my office was, thinking that she would come and collect them. But no, she asked if I could go to this restaurant that was out of way from my office. I said, I canā€™t..and especially not during work. So she said okay and asked if I could meet her at The Curve after work. I told her I wasnā€™t sure because I didnā€™t know when I was going to leave my office (busy, busy week). She then said I could give her a call when itā€™s free for us to meet and then the conversation ended.

Fast forward to this morning, very early in the morning, I received an SMS from M.

Could we meet tonight so that you can pass me the tickets?

Unfortunately for M, I have no more tickets to give out and so I replied her sms with an apology.

Sorry babe, Iā€™ve ran out of tix already.

Ladies and gentlemen, do you know whatā€™s her next reply????

you suppose to reserve for me. nvm thx.

WT FLYING FUCK? This chick has no shame. Who does she think she is? I donā€™t even fucking know her!!!!

I replied her smsā€¦

I donā€™t owe them to you and iā€™m certainly not your postman.

Then this stupid embarassment to females alike replied after a long pause (probably trying to think up of a comeback)ā€¦

chill, donā€™t be serious, gal ;)

which I received while stuck in the bloody jam.

Of which I replied,

Iā€™ll chill after youā€™ve learnt some manners ;)

She didnā€™t reply after that.

I tell you, some people are walking calluses. Thick skin extraordinaire!!!!!

Donā€™t know how $ managed to befriend people like that, man -_-
