i love my pup so much 3

I’m currently blogging from Mentakab, a quaint town in Pahang where my Mom grew up. We have just celebrated my granny’s 70th birthday. I’m not going to talk about my granny yet as the pictures are still in the camera.

We made our way back early this morning. Brought Sisi along too, of course. She’s used to the car and all already and was comfortably catching cat naps (heh) throughout the 1.5 hrs journey.

#1 Checking me out before she konked out in her basket.

We arrived at the house we’re renting for one night. It’s located just behind my granny’s home. It’s our first time staying at a residential house while visiting my granny. We used to stay at my granny’s when we’re younger, but since my cousins and us have grown quite a bit there’s not much space to go around and we had to stay at the nearby hotels till this trip.

The house is huge. 3 big bedrooms and a loft with 4 (!!) beds in it. All got air-cons and only for RM160 a night. Perfect for us till…..

power cut at noon. FYI, Mentakab hasn’t been experiencing the torrential rains KL’s getting. We were so hot, we ended up:

#2 Lying on the marble floor to cool off.

hot

#3 Excuse my greasy face as it was really fucking hot.

floor

But I was still in a jolly mood cause the marble floor really did cool us down and we were all just lying down, chit-chatting while a little fluff went on a rampage.

#4 Fluff above my head about to exact her revenge…

fluff

#5 …which was licking my face ferociously for taking over the floorspace.

#6 Sigh, I love you too :)

Plugging =D

Finally got my hands on the latest edition of FHM Malaysia. It feels so good to see my articles published totally unedited :) There’s nothing more painful than seeing your story edited till it loses the punchline, thank goodness it’s never happened to me yet. (but if u sucks in the grammer and the engrish language then u can’t blame people la)

FHM Booby Trap

This month I’ve also got a two-pager food review published. It’s one thing to have your words printed on a mainstream magazine but it’s another to see your pictures published and credited too :D :D :D Sorry, the narcissist in me is beaming with pride and utterly excited by things like that. I didn’t even use a flash, just natural light heh heh heh

As you may have noticed, I’ve also changed my blog banner. Mainly to please my mommy who cringes everytime she loads my blog (eventhough she’s to blame for the tits) and secondly cause I couldn’t stand my face, which truthfully was badly photoshopped to the max till it looked barely like myself heh heh heh. In my defense, the job was botched around 4am.

Been a bit of an anti-social lately. Busy with life, dog and saving up money for a bigass tv ready for the “herd”. Trying to lose some weight too…that’s coming along painfully slow =P

Here are birthday wishes to LSA, Mike Yip and Kim Ong. I’m glad Kim and Mike are too busy to layan me and LSA is in USA…so I can save on pressies muahahahaha. Daddy’s birthday was on the 5th too so imagine how broke I could have been!

Truth is.

Truth is I got a little caught up with all the traffic chasing. I’d blog and I’d get angry when I see that my traffic doesn’t match up with the effort I put in. Truth is when I put in that much effort, I wasn’t blogging for myself anymore.

This used to be fun and leisurely. It had turned into a chore.

So, I’m slowly weaning myself off this race. Been blogging with no expectations and restraints for the past 3 weeks and loving it. I’m a much calmer person.

Am also working on other aspects of my life. Trying to move away from from this plateau, do a little bit of growing up. Am glad the boo is willingly walking down this path with me (no, we’re not getting married…stop asking!).

Also, trying my hand in real writing. Finally, after getting put off for so long by half-bucket magazines who didn’t even have the decency to credit one properly (I’ve been credited as Kimberly Choong. Who the fuck is Kimberly Choong? Not to mention discrepancy of names throughout KimberLEY KimberLY WTF?), I’m finally truly, unequivocally published.

As some of you may have known, I now have a permanent column in FHM Malaysia called “Booby Trap”. Feel free to speculate why the name is so, but it’s really not as dirty as you think it is. Hehe. FHM is my favourite men’s magazine and I’m not just saying this because I write for them. I used to buy it every month without fail for a couple of years (even have the collection to prove it), which is why I’m immensely proud to be writing for them now.

FHM

So, what’s contained in Booby Trap? Well, just general, mostly funny observations by yours truly – online and offline. Do get yourself a copy of FHM Malaysia, especially next month’s as I was really, really, really stoked writing October’s column. It’ll be something that happened to me, way before I started blogging and I don’t think I’ve ever told anyone about it :)
